The Youth Peace Forum 2026 continued into its third day yesterday at the Jade Hall of the Myanmar International Convention Centre I (MICC I) in Nay Pyi Taw.
The Youth Peace Forum 2026 was attended by member of the State Security and Peace Commission, and Chairman of the National Solidarity and Peacemaking Negotiation Committee (NSPNC) Union Minister Lt-Gen Yar Pyae, Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn Secretary of the NSPNC Lt-Gen Min Naing, members of the Negotiation Committee, Ministers for Social Affairs from regions and states, representatives from ministries, intellectuals and intelligentsia from various fields, youth representatives from various strata of the regions and states, ethnic armed organizations that have signed the NCA, diverse ethnic cultural and religious backgrounds, ethnic youth from border areas, and other invited youth representatives and observers.
Youth networks were first formed, and project proposals were submitted. Experts then discussed and recommended the proposals. The proposals were voted on by youth participants, after which experts reviewed the votes and determined the awards. Finally, a rapid survey and opinion poll were conducted among the youth.
Union Minister Lt-Gen Yar Pyae also presented awards to the first and second-prize winners in the group discussion on network-based project proposals, while Union Minister U Maung Maung Ohn presented awards to the third-prize winners.
Negotiation Committee Secretary Lt-Gen Min Naing then presented awards and honourable mentions to the experts who participated in the forum. Negotiation Committee Member Lt-Gen Sein Win (retd) also presented awards to the winners of the painting competition. Negotiation Committee Member Lt-Gen Myo Thant Naing presented awards to the winners of the cybersecurity quiz. Negotiation Committee Member Lt-Gen Win Bo Shein (retd) presented awards to the forum coordinators, and Negotiation Committee Member Maj-Gen Soe Naing Oo (retd) presented awards to the forum facilitators. Union Minister Lt-Gen Yar Pyae also presented certificates of appreciation to donors who supported the ceremony and to those who composed the forum’s theme song, while Secretary Lt-Gen Min Naing presented certificates of appreciation to supporting groups.
Union ministers and the youth group then reviewed the discussion on the impacts of information technology (IT), the establishment of artificial intelligence (AI) systems, cyber and online security, social media and network groups, and effective discussion on true information.
Four young people read out the Youth Declaration issued by the Youth Peace Forum 2026 for future nation-building.
The Union Ministers and forum attendees then recited the four oaths of the Youth Peace Forum 2026 – “We will strive to improve ourselves; We will build and strengthen our networks; We will contribute to peace in our communities; and We will work for the good of our country” – before releasing the declaration. Four youth representatives delivered words of appreciation on behalf of the young people who attended.
Afterwards, NSPNC Secretary Lt-Gen Min Naing explained the results of the discussion, and NSPNC Chairman Lt-Gen Yar Pyae delivered the concluding speech before closing the ceremony.
