The region and state subcommissions of the Union Election Commission counted advance ballot papers cast by voters residing overseas at Shwe Myaing Hall of the Mawlamyine District General Administration Department on the afternoon of 25 December, under Rule 92 (a) of the relevant Hluttaw Election Rules.
In Mon State, 104 voters proposed to cast advance ballots, of whom 84 actually voted.
Union Election Commission Member U Ko Ko Lwin, who is responsible for Mon State, together with members of the state election subcommission, opened and counted the ballots in the presence of representatives from political parties.
The counting of advance ballots continued on a township-by-township basis yesterday at the respective election subcommission offices, according to available information.
