THE Union of Myanmar Travel Association (UMTA) and the Heilongjiang Provincial Tourism Association of the People’s Republic of China have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote tourism between the two countries, according to UMTA.

During the signing ceremony held on 20 April at the Lotte Hotel in Yangon, the MoU was signed by UMTA Chairman U Kyaw Phone Naing and the Chairman of the Heilongjiang Provincial Tourism Association, Mr Wang Hongxin.

It is reported that this MOU marks a significant step toward expanding tourism collaboration between the two nations.

The ceremony was attended by U Aung Naing Thu, Chief Minister of Yangon Region and relevant officials, Mr Wu Qin, Communist Party Secretary of Heilongjiang Province and delegates, Ms Ma Jia, Chinese Ambassador to Myanmar, and other invitees.
