The police seized K1.53 billion worth of 1.02 million stimulant tablets at Bubet village inspection camp in Padaung Township on 28 February.

Acting on a tip-off, the security forces conducted checks at Bubet village inspection camp in Padaung Township and seized K1.53 billion worth of 1.02 million stimulant tablets in six cartons on a Sojen vehicle together with Than Aung Swe, Kyaw Win Tun and Kyaw San Min, and Kyaw Zin Latt, Khin Maung Myint Shwe and Kyi Kyi Khine with a Probox vehicle.

Based on the confessions of the offenders, Kyaw Win and Thaung Tun were arrested in a Hijet vehicle in Pyay Township.

Suspect Kyaw Win testified that he agreed with Kyaw Lin (still at large) and Sai Kyaw Hla (still at large) to transport the drugs from Yangon to Rakhine State at K85 million. Then, he agreed with Khin Maung Myint Shwe to transport the drugs arriving in Yangon to Talaitaung village of Maei Town at K35 million.

According to the confession of Khin Maung Myint Shwe, he hired a Probox of Kyaw Zin Latt to transport the drugs with his wife Kyi Kyi Khine under the instructions of Kyaw Win, and then he hired a Sojen vehicle of Kyaw San Min and he contacted Kyaw San Min, driver Than Aung Swe and conductor Kyaw Win Tun to go together.

Security forces conducted security measures to arrest fugitives Kyaw Lin and Sai Kyaw Hla. The whistleblowers and those who help arrest the suspects will be covertly rewarded.— MNA/KTZH
