Chairman of the National Disaster Management Committee Vice-Chairman of the State Administration Council Deputy Prime Minister Vice-Senior General Soe Win, accompanied Vice-Chairs of the NDMC Union ministers, inspected loss and damage to Naypyitaw State Academy yesterday afternoon.

He viewed round damage to the post-graduate and management main building, the medical lecture hall, the economics lecture hall, two arts and science lecture halls and the economic and social lecture hall. According to the inspection, the main columns and beams are completely undamaged, with only some cracks and separations in the plaster of certain partition brick walls.

He coordinated with officials to completely repair these buildings before opening of the university. He also inspected the convocation hall and a six-storey building which are under construction.

According to the inspection of experts from the Federation of Myanmar Engineering Societies, and Myanmar Engineering Council as well as earthquake experts, there is no damage at the buildings.

The Ministry of Construction built the completed buildings and other buildings underway on the campus of Naypyitaw State Academy in accordance with international standard SOPs 2020, following a design capable of withstanding a magnitude 7 on the Richter scale.

The Vice-Senior General gave instructions that the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Construction have to coordinate for construction of buildings in accordance with the newly revised design by the Ministry of Construction, which can withstand up to magnitude 8 on the Richter scale.
