The eighth batch of humanitarian aid from the People’s Republic of China for areas affected by the recent Mandalay earthquake arrived in Yangon yesterday afternoon via an Air China Cargo flight.
The shipment included 37,903 kilogrammes of medicines. Upon arrival at Yangon International Airport, Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein, officials from the regional government, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement, and Mr Ouyang Daobing, Counsellor of the Chinese Embassy in Myanmar, welcomed the aid.
Mr Ouyang Daobing officially handed over the aid supplies, which were accepted by Chief Minister U Soe Thein. The materials are now loaded onto designated vehicles for delivery to quake-affected areas.
