THE government continues to conduct joint operations in the Shwe Kokko area and the KK Park area, where suspects commit telecom fraud and online gambling activities. The combined teams comprising security personnel and administrative bodies are involved in these operations, which include entering the areas, dismantling and removing illegal buildings, and taking further action in accordance with the law.
Yesterday, the authorities found five one-storey buildings and arrested 15 Chinese nationals at the unoccupied guesthouse in Myawady and also seized 200 (TX60) tyres, 3,000 rolls of green tarpaulins, 20 large paper rolls, 20 air filters (large), 30 air filters (small), 16 battery-powered bicycles, 100 (1.5 horse power) water pumps, 25 backhoe wheel rims, 3,000 tissue paper cartons, 1,000 packs of stationery, 250 packs of cosmetics, 1,800 packs of silicone sealant, 20 bicycles, 15 baby strollers, totalling 14 illegal products, at two warehouses.
The seizures will be managed in accordance with the procedures, and the measures will be conducted to deport the arrestees to their countries.
To prevent future reuse of the materials in online scams and gambling activities in KK Park and Shwe Kokko areas, the seized materials were incinerated systematically. The government considers the eradication of telecom fraud and online gambling crimes as a national responsibility and, to ensure that such activities can no longer operate within Myanmar, will continue its efforts in coordination not only with domestic forces but also with the governments of neighbouring countries.
