AS some patients are receiving medical treatments at hospitals during the outbreak of diarrhoea in some townships of Yangon Region starting from 25 June, the field-study teams conduct preventive measures for Cholera at the schools, factories, industries, monasteries, nunneries, homes for the aged, centres of altruistic organizations, training schools and dormitories under the supervision of Ministry of Health and Yangon Region government.

In this regard, they conducted health awareness programmes, sharing water purification tablets and chlorine pills. They were notified to be hygienic in cooking areas, to place water and soap in the handwashing areas, and to use fly-proof latrines by cooperating with the department concerned. Moreover, they also inspected the cleanliness of markets in Yangon Region using checklists to be able to provide the needed assistance.

The necessary treatments, medicines, and disease control activities are provided to patients suffering from diarrhoea at general hospitals.

A total of 60 new diarrhoea patients are receiving medical treatments at hospitals in Yangon Region from 6 am to 6 pm on 8 July. Six of them are suffering from severe diarrhoea disease. Out of the townships with high diarrhoea diseases, Dawbon township is now under control, whereas Thakayta township sees declines in infection rate, and the health staff are leveraging up the control of disease in cooperation with the people to be able to control the disease in a short time.
