Beware of climate change in all parts of the country

THROUGHOUT the world, people are facing various challenges brought about by the changing climate, natural disasters, and environmental issues. These phenomena are not normal occurrences, and as a result, catastrophic events have been happening. The negative effects of these events are being experienced by people worldwide. This situation requires urgent action to protect and preserve the environment through proactive measures and awareness to prevent further harm.

During this period, unusual climate changes around the world have caused natural disasters such as droughts, heavy rains, storms, floods, extreme heat, and earthquakes, among other environmental hazards. Countries worldwide are facing these challenges. The global population will continue to experience negative impacts in climate change.

As for Myanmar, the country is currently experiencing wind patterns from the Bay of Bengal and the Andaman Sea, which are bringing moist air. There are also strong winds from the coastal regions near the South China Sea. This combination has caused a convergence of air masses, resulting in possible rain and thunderstorms, particularly in the coastal areas of the Bay of Bengal. From 20 to 23 December, there may be heavy rain in the regions of Nay Pyi Taw, Mandalay, Sagaing, Kachin, Chin, Rakhine, and Shan States, which could lead to severe weather conditions.

With heavy rain, strong winds, thunderstorms, lightning, hail, thunder strikes, flooding, landslides, and other natural disasters, there is a possibility of danger. People living near highland areas have to be cautious of landslide risks, while those residing near rivers and streams should be aware of potential flooding dangers. The Department of Meteorology and Hydrology has issued warnings to help people stay informed and prepared.

Climate change refers to abnormal weather patterns, such as severe weather events, heavy rainfall, flooding, and rising sea levels. Climate change is a global issue that affects the survival and health of humans, as well as ecological systems in various ways. Therefore, humans must take proactive steps to address health-related challenges caused by climate change and work to prevent its causes, including the destruction of natural ecosystems and the reduction of carbon dioxide emissions.

Hence, the changing climate and extreme weather events, along with the risks of environmental hazards, are affecting the future. To ensure more stable and sustainable weather patterns, every human must reduce deforestation and protect trees. It is essential to plant trees and reduce carbon dioxide emissions through various means, in order to protect the environment and mitigate these risks. We must take immediate action to prevent further harm.
