I extend my warm greetings and best wishes to all our esteemed ethnic nationals of the Union, our people, our dear brothers and sisters and all our Myanmar citizens living overseas. May you all be filled with peace, happiness and bounteous joy on the auspicious occasion of the New Year! May all your wishes come true!

Seasons change, ringing out the old year and bringing in a new year. In the year of our Lord, year in and year out, Year 2020 is a New Year bringing the meanings of extraordinariness and perfection, we all welcome this New Year with joy and delight.

From the occasion of the New Year, we citizens may learn salutary les-sons over our strengths and weaknesses from the past, as well as over the hardships and challenges that we had faced.  These hardships and challenges, we hope, will enable us to seize opportunities for future success.

Playing our respective roles, renouncing our deeply held Egos, we should undertake and dispatch our duties with loving kindness. We should keep our morality intact, and exercise our good will. I pray that we stand together, united, in times of emergency, and face any obstacle with the spirit of the Union, already ingrained within the hearts of all our ethnic nationals.    

Since collaboration and collective work is the key to success, I wish to urge all ethnic nationals to build a modern, developed, Democratic Federal Union, which is both peaceful and prosperous, with your collective strength.

I extend these New Year greetings and my best wishes to all our citizens to be blessed with a peaceful and beautiful future from 2020 onwards. May you all be able to keep the teachings of all religions in your hearts!
