A 48-member Myanmar delegation, led by Union Information Minister U Maung Maung Ohn, departed for the 2024 China-Myanmar Cultural Exchange Week and the fourth Twin City Media Forum in Kunming, Yunnan Province, China.
This event, organized as a prelude to the 2024 China-ASEAN Cultural Exchange Year and the 75th Anniversary of China-Myanmar diplomatic relations in 2025, aims to foster China-Myanmar mutual cooperation and enhance media cooperation between the two nations.
The delegation includes 41 staff members from six ministries: the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture, the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, and Irrigation, the Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development, the Ministry of Energy, and the Ministry of Hotels and Tourism, along with seven representatives from private media and organizations. They departed from Yangon International Airport yesterday afternoon.
During the trip, the Myanmar delegation will observe ancient Guanlu City in Yaoan District, the media centre in Chuxiong City, the development of flower-based modern agricultural tasks at Yi ethnic fabric digital parks, the extension of the tourism industry, the progress of the media sector and preservation of traditional handiworks. Efforts in cultural exchange and media cooperation can enhance friendly relations and understanding between governments and peoples of both countries. It aims to cement friendly ties between the two countries further and promptly implement the follow-up undertakings on the improvement of the socioeconomic lives after State Administration Council Chairman Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing paid a visit to China from 5 to 10 November 2024.
