The Supervisory Committee on the Exportation of Myanmar Rice to China organized its coordination meeting at the meeting hall of the Agricultural Department (head office) of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation yesterday. Permanent Secretary U Kyaw Min Oo, who is also the committee vice-chair, committee members, chairpersons of private entrepreneur associations, and relevant officials attended the meeting.

The meeting discussed the release of Expression of Interest (EOI) in July for the new companies that want to export rice and non-premium rice to China in 2024, inspections on rice mills and warehouses of companies by the Agricultural Department, Consumers Affairs Department and MITS, field studies, data of companies that want to export rice and non-premium rice to China under the agreement made by the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation and China’s GACC and report to the supervisory committee regarding inspection findings on rice mills and warehouses to register at GACC.

A total of 43 companies received GACC certificates in 2021, while 18 in 2022 and 50 in 2023, totalling 111 companies to export rice and non-premium rice to China.
