A video appeared on social media on 12 November showing alleged PDF youth members dressed in uniforms and fully armed, visiting a pagoda similar to Kyaiktiyo Pagoda in Kyaikto Township, Mon State. The video depicted the group worshipping in front of a stupa resembling the revered Kyaiktiyo Pagoda.

However, according to the Kyaiktiyo Pagoda Board of Trustees, the video does not show the actual Kyaiktiyo Pagoda on the Paung Laung peak in Kyaikto. Instead, the scene was filmed at a replica pagoda in Myaing Township, Magway Region. Trustees clarified that Kyaiktiyo Pagoda continues to receive thousands of daily visitors in a peaceful atmosphere, with 1,887 visitors on 12 November alone and around 2,000 visitors daily this week.

Trustees also stated that the viral video was deliberately staged to mislead the public and create unrest among pilgrims visiting the sacred site.
