The second day of the 2024 Mid-Year Myanmar Gems Emporium occurred yesterday morning at the Mani Yadana Jade Hall in Nay Pyi Taw. The event was attended by U Khin Maung Yi, Union Minister for Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation, who observed the activities and expressed support.

During the visit, the Union minister reviewed the pearl auction, examined tender announcements, and inspected stalls showcasing pearls, gemstones, and jewellery. He provided instructions to responsible officials where necessary.

The emporium features 280 pearl lots, 160 gemstone lots, and 4,800 jade lots divided into three categories (A, B, and C). Pearls sold on the second day included 108 lots, auctioned through the open tender system. The third day will witness the sale of pearl lots 141–280.

The emporium will continue at the Mani Yadana Jade Hall between 18 and 27 November, bustling with local and international traders exploring and purchasing various high-value items. Payments are accepted in foreign currencies such as the US dollar, euro, yuan, and baht, as well as Myanmar kyats for domestic traders.
