Union Minister for Health Dr Thet Khaing Win met a delegation led by Senior Fund Portfolio Manager Ms Maria Iazskun Gaviria Ayucar from the Geneva-based Global Fund headquarters yesterday at the ministry.

They discussed ongoing collaborative efforts for 2024–2026 between the Ministry of Health and the Global Fund, focusing on the prevention and treatment of tuberculosis (TB), HIV/AIDS, and malaria.

Topics included enhancing cooperation in these health initiatives, the government’s funding for HIV/AIDS and TB medications, ensuring the availability of essential medicines, and the ministry’s oversight of fund utilization and programme implementation. Both sides expressed a commitment to continuing cooperation frankly and cordially.
