Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein attended the ceremony for renovating the Myanmar-China Friendship School Building at Basic Education High School No 14 in Hlinethaya yesterday morning.

This project was funded by the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China to Myanmar and implemented by the Myanmar-China Friendship Association.

During the event, the Chinese Ambassador to Myanmar Ms Ma Jia delivered opening remarks, highlighting the importance of the project. Following her speech, Chief Minister U Soe Thein also addressed the attendees and presented a commemorative certificate of appreciation to the ambassador.

Afterwards, the chief minister, regional ministers, the Chinese ambassador, and other officials observed student performances and toured the renovated school building.

The Myanmar-China Friendship School Building was originally constructed as a two-storey RCC structure in June 2017 with support from the Chinese Embassy. In November 2024, it underwent renovations costing approximately K61 million.
