Deputy Minister for Health Dr Aye Tun inspected the clinic and preventive measures for communicable diseases for the athletes who are at dormitories to participate in the Fifth National Sports Festival in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.

The deputy minister observed the establishment of the clinic, subcommittee office on health, and conditions to open a traditional medicine clinic, and instructed to prepare ambulances to transfer patients where necessary and report certain outbreaks of diseases promptly.

He then checked the preventive measures for diseases at dormitories such as adding chlorine into water tanks, and education programmes on four cleans, and provided instructions to meet hygiene standards when preparing food.

Healthcare teams were organized including medics from the Ministry of Health, Tatmadaw Medical Corps, and Myanmar Red Cross Society to provide healthcare services during the sports festival, and the medical team comprising specialists will be also mobilized. Moreover, systematic arrangements are made to deter drug use by athletes.
