The seventh intake of the People’s Military Service Training Course commenced yesterday at various training centres under the respective regional military commands. Eligible and patriotic citizens selected for the programme had already arrived at the training centres to complete the necessary preparations before the opening ceremony.

Opening ceremonies were held at each training centre yesterday morning, and heads of the centres delivered inaugural speeches. Senior officials, including the Nay Pyi Taw Council chairman, state and regional chief ministers, respective command commanders, and other responsible personnel attended the event. Officials met trainees, offering cash awards, presenting support materials, and encouraging participants warmly and engagingly.

The People’s Military Service Training Course, conducted under the National Defence Service Law, which came into foce on 10 February 2024, aims to instil military knowledge and equip citizens with the ability to contribute to national defence and security responsibilities. The first course commenced on 8 April 2024. Graduates from the previous courses are now actively serving in their assigned units and formations, demonstrating unwavering commitment to protecting the nation’s sovereignty and security.
