The meeting was attended by Kayah State Chief Minister U Zaw Myo Tin, members of the state government, the deputy regional commander, Kayah State departmental personnel, and chairs and members of Loikaw District and Township administration bodies.

In his opening remarks, U Zaw Myo Tin stated, “Due to the destructive actions of terrorist, it is essential for relevant authorities to work together systematically to ensure the safe and smooth return of displaced individuals to their hometowns. A well-structured plan is needed to address security and administrative matters effectively. The state government will render necessary assistance to returnees, including access to clean drinking water, electricity, and employment opportunities. Additionally, assistance will be given to revitalize agricultural, livestock, and MSME activities to help rebuild livelihoods”.

The chairperson of the Loikaw District Administration Body then provided reports on the conditions of residents wishing to return and resettle in Loikaw’s downtown wards. Attendees discussed plans to address security concerns and ensure essential services such as drinking water, electricity, roads, bridges, healthcare, and education were available. They also deliberated on measures to support the rebuilding and revitalization of returnees’ livelihoods.

Finally, members of the Kayah State government offered their suggestions, and the chief minister coordinated the suggestions from state government members and the reports from officials at the state, district, and township levels.
