The 60th anniversary of Yangon University of Economics was marked at the university yesterday.

It was attended by Union Minister for Investment and Foreign Economic Relations Dr Kan Zaw, Union Minister for Education Dr Nyunt Pe, Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein, Deputy Minister Dr Zaw Myint, regional governmental officials, experts, Rectors, Pro-reactors, faculty members and alumni of the university.

First, Union Ministers Dr Kan Zaw and Dr Nyunt Pe, Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein, Deputy Minister Dr Zaw Myint and Rector of Yangon University of Economics Dr Tin Tin Htwe cut the ribbon to inaugurate the ceremony.

Then, the video message sent by State Administration Council Chairman Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing to the occasion was screened.

Union Minister Dr Nyunt Pe expressed gratitude, and the graduate students in 1984 and university students sang the song to mark the 60th anniversary of the Yangon University of Economics and performed song entertainments marking the 60th anniversary of the university.

After the documentary video of Yangon University of Economics was played, Rector Dr Tin Tin Htwe presented gifts to the attendees.

The Union Ministers and officials also gave honorary gifts to the businesspersons who contributed to the ceremony.

The rector spoke words of thanks.

They then observed the photo exhibition marking the 60th anniversary of Yangon University of Economics.
