The Royal Thai Embassy in Myanmar announced that Myanmar nationals and other foreign nationals in Myanmar are eligible to apply for visa by new e-visa system for all kinds of visas starting from 1 January 2025 before arriving in Thailand.

Applicants no longer need to come in person to present their passport and other necessary documents at the embassy for applying visa but can apply for all kinds of visas at https://www.thaievisa.go.th/ and visit it to learn the e-visa application process, it said. After the e-visa application is submitted, payment (USD in cash) can be made at the embassy on the appointment date from 9 am to 11:30 am and further announcements on the online booking system will be continued.

After the visa fee is paid, 11-15 days will be taken for assessment of visa application forms and if necessary, documents are not complete or fake documents are found, the visa application will be rejected, it warned.

When the visa application form is approved, an approval letter will be sent to the applicant’s email and it will need to be printed out to present it at the airport and Thailand Immigration. Applications for visa appointment date at https://www.thaiconsularyangon.com/visa will be accepted until 24 December and the acceptance of applications will be stopped from 25 to 31 December, it said.
