Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn watched and encouraged the rehearsals of ethnic groups, ethnic peoples, and students who will perform at the Fifth National Sports Festival closing ceremony at Ywataw Transit Centre in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday evening.
The rehearsals included 167 ethnic performers from various regions and states showcasing traditional dances, and 320 students from Basic Education High Schools performing the song ‘Shwe Pyitaw Thoh Ahtu’ (We Go Together to the Golden Land). The Union minister expressed gratitude for the active preparation and highlighted the festival’s importance for the country. He emphasized the successful opening ceremony and the significance of the closing ceremony, which will feature a celebration of Myanmar’s Thingyan Festival being recognized as a UNESCO World Intangible Cultural Heritage.
The Union minister urged those to report difficulties to the relevant authorities and stressed the importance of health. He also provided food to dancing trainers, supervisors, ethnic performers, and students, offering words of encouragement.
