The ceremony marking the 60th anniversary of the founding of Yangon University of Economics (YUE) and the teachers’ honouring ceremony was held yesterday morning on the YUE campus. Union Minister for Investment and Foreign Economic Relations Dr Kan Zaw attended the event and delivered a congratulatory speech.

During his speech, the Union minister expressed appreciation for the contributions of successive faculty members who have advanced the field of economics, shaped the country’s development, and served at the national level. He also commended the university for its progressive expansion of economics-related disciplines over the years.

YUE Rector Dr Tin Tin Htwe welcomed the distinguished faculty members and explained the organization of the 60th-anniversary commemoration event.

Out of the 256 invited faculty members, 134 attended the ceremony in person, while others joined online. Following the ceremony, the honoured faculty members were hosted at a luncheon as a gesture of gratitude and respect.
