REPORTS claiming that security forces burned down over 40 homes across five villages in the Yaylekyun of Yesagyo Township, Magway Region, have been dismissed as false by authorities.

According to a security official, these allegations circulated by malicious news media are baseless and fabricated.

The official clarified that security forces are conducting routine security operations in the area and have not engaged in any acts of arson or destruction against civilian houses. Instead, it is terrorists who are responsible for targeting villages that do not support them, setting fire to properties, and detaining, and killing residents.

The official added that malicious news media spread these false reports to mislead the public and tarnish the reputation of security forces while concealing the violent acts of insurgents. This misinformation campaign is intended to manipulate public perception and divert attention from terrorists’ activities.
