Myanma Railways (MR) will add the special up and down trains for Nay Pyi Taw-Mandalay, Yangon-Mawlamyine and Yangon-Pyay routes in the upcoming public holidays to facilitate public transportation and civil servants, MR stated.

Beyond the regular schedule, MR will extend its services with special up- and down-trains for the Yangon-Mawlamyine-Yangon route on 27 and 28 December 2024 and 1 January 2025. The Yangon-Mawlamyine special train will depart at 7:45 am at Yangon Railway Station and the down train will leave for Yangon at 9:15 am from Mawlamyine station.

The up-train for the Yangon-Pyay route will run on 28 December and the down-train on the Pyay-Yangon route will be operated on 1 January. The departure time at Yangon station is scheduled at 1 pm and the special train will depart at 10 pm from Pyay station.

Both special trains and RBE trains will run on Nay Pyi Taw-Mandalay-Nay Pyi Taw routes. RBE trains will depart at 1 pm from Nay Pyi Taw and arrive at 7:45 pm at Mandalay station. Then, the RBE train will leave at 4:45 am from Mandalay to Nay Pyi Taw and the arrival time is estimated at 11:30 am.

The up-train running on the Thazi-Mandalay route will also depart from Thazi at 5 am and arrive at 2:30 pm. The down train is scheduled to depart from Mandalay at 2:30 pm and enter Thazi Station at 6 pm.

Furthermore, more coaches will be added to Yangon-Mandalay-Yangon trains.

Tickets for those routes are available to buy three days in advance for the upper class and one day in advance for the ordinary class. Train ticket fees and train stops will remain unchanged.
