Tourism operators in the Myeik Archipelago, Taninthayi Region, are gearing up to provide exceptional services for homegrown and international tourists during the 2025 New Year period, according to local tourism businesses.
“Hotels and tour operators in the Myeik Archipelago are offering special promotions for the New Year. We have organized events that showcase the local cuisine, the traditions and way of life of the Salon people, the lives of fishermen, and their resilience in navigating the challenges of the waves. Tourists can also enjoy New Year festivities and relaxation activities. At King’s Island (Lay Island), we are offering special group rates for families, companies, and entrepreneurs seeking to relax with their employees during the New Year. Activities include beach bonfires, dancing, canoeing through mangrove forests, group-wise growing of mangrove plants, and mangrove conservation efforts,” said U Kyaw Moe, Chief Executive Officer of Blue Ocean Star Resort & Travel Co Ltd.
He added, “Tourism is about raising awareness. We must continuously educate domestic and international tourists about the beauty of Myanmar and its regions. Effective promotion is essential, regardless of tourist numbers. In particular, we invite everyone to visit the Myeik Archipelago, including the King’s Island Resort, where visitors can experience natural beauty, serene beaches, stunning islands, and vibrant marine life in a safe and peaceful environment”.
The Myeik Archipelago, located in Taninthayi Region, consists of over 200 islands, while the region as a whole boasts more than 800 islands.
