On behalf of the State Administration Council Chairman, State Administration Council Secretary General Aung Lin Dwe, accompanied by officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, arrived at the Embassy of India’s Liaison Office, situated at the Park Royal Hotel, Dekkhinathiri Township, Nay Pyi Taw, at noon yesterday to sign the book of condolence for the passing of Dr Manmohan Singh, former Prime Minister of the Republic of India, who passed away on 26 December 2024. First Secretary and Head of the Indian Liaison Office Ms Ritu Yadav, and officials welcomed the Secretary of the State Administration Council.
Following this, the Secretary of the State Administration Council met Ms Ritu Yadav, First Secretary, Head of the Indian Liaison Office and officials of the Indian Embassy in a cordial meeting. He also conveyed a message of condolence and sympathy from the Chairman of the State Administration Council for the recent passing of the former Prime Minister of the Republic of India and signed the book of condolence.
Dr Manmohan Singh served as the Prime Minister of the Republic of India from 2004 to 2014 and paid a goodwill visit to Myanmar in 2012.
