SECURITY forces conducted an operation in Kala Village, located about 8,500 metres west of Ngazun at around 11 pm on 2 January.
They targeted PDF terrorists allegedly involved in destructive activities under directives from NUG and CRPH. These terrorists were reportedly sheltering at homes and a school while stockpiling weapons and explosives.
Acting on tips from residents who opposed violent actions disrupting community peace, security personnel launched a swift operation. The encounter resulted in the death of three terrorists. Discoveries were also made including explosives, weapons and related materials stored in the targeted school and houses. Two vehicles: a Nissan Xtrail and a Hijet with bearing charitable organization documents were also confiscated.
The arrested group had reportedly entered rural areas to exploit civilians as human shields while engaging in terror activities. Their acts included ambushing security forces, planting explosives and constructing bunkers around commandeered locations such as schools, administrative buildings and private homes.
These violent acts not only endangered lives but also hindered children’s education and regional development. Security forces are committed to exposing such operations. All recovered items are being processed in accordance with legal procedures.
Authorities commend the timely intelligence shared by responsible locals which facilitated the successful interception of these terrorist’s activity. Security forces urge the public to report any movements or activities by such groups to ensure regional stability and community peace.
