The beach has more than 20 hotels and guest houses offering service to visitors year-round.

“In 2024, Shwethaungyan Beach received 16,546 domestic and overseas visitors in September 2024, 17,857 in October, 24,545 in November, and 54,557 in December. Most of them made day trips. There is also an elephant camp near the beach, which attracts visitors year-round,” Daw Cherry Myint said.

Currently, measures are being taken at every hotel in Shwethaungyan Beach to ensure cleanliness along the beach in front of the hotel, beautify the landscapes and roads within the hotel compound, and maintain overall cleanliness in public areas. Additionally, preparations are underway to offer local cuisine to guests staying at the hotels.

In addition to implementing security measures for visitors, local foods and products, as well as souvenirs, are sold along the beach, while bicycles, motorboats, and horse rental services are also provided. — ASH/TH
