POLICE arrested nine offenders involved in making fake citizenship scrutiny cards, labour cards, wards and police recommendation letters in January.
The very first suspect Ma May Thu Khine was arrested in Taunggyi Township on 8 January.
Another suspect, Phyu Thwe Htwe was arrested in Hlinethaya (East) Township in Yangon on 8 January night, while Han Zaw Myint (aka) Pyaung Lay in Hlinethaya (East) Township on 9 January, Zin Lin (aka) Lin Lin in Hlinethaya (West) Township, Myint Myat Kyi (aka) Wa Toke, Sandar Oo, Soe Min Oo (aka) Gadone at their houses in Hlinethaya Township respectively, and San Maw Lwin at Moe Thauk Pan copy shop.
According to the confession of Soe Min Oo (aka) Gatone, Moe Moe, sister of suspect Pyay Thein Htike (still at large) was arrested in Htantabin Township.
The nine suspects confessed that Kalar Gyi (aka) Jimmy Thaung (still at large) and Pyay Thein Htike (still at large) created the fake citizenship scrutiny cards, labour cards, ward and police recommendation letters for them, and they communicated Tet Pu (still at large) to sell these cards at K30,000 per card.
These nine offenders were taken action under the law, and further investigations are ongoing.
