Eligible citizens participating in the People’s Military Service Training Course No 9 have arrived at respective regional military headquarters training depots and undertaken necessary preparations to strengthen national defence and security. Opening ceremonies for the course were held at various training schools.

At the ceremonies, school heads delivered opening speeches. Present at the events were officials including the Nay Pyi Taw Council Chair, Chief Ministers of Regions and States, Commanders, and other responsible personnel. They met the trainees and presented monetary and material support while motivating trainees for their service.

The People’s Military Service Law, enacted on 10 February 2024 aims to educate citizens in military knowledge and prepare them to safeguard the nation’s defence, unity, and sovereignty. The inaugural course, People’s Military Service Training 1 began on 8 April 2024 and produced disciplined and dedicated trainees who are now actively serving in respective battalions and units and contributing to national defence and security responsibilities effectively. — MNA/KZL
