State Administration Council Member Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Transport and Communications General Mya Tun Oo, who is also Chairman of the Government-Private Trade Promotion Council, presided over the 1/2025 meeting of the council yesterday.
Speaking at the meeting, the General highlighted the formation of the Government-Private Trade Promotion Council to supervise the implementation of the National Export Strategy 2020-2025 and review the reports of the Government-Private Export Promotion Committee on the export sector for policy guidance and trade development strategies.
He added that the relevant departments and organizations should make efforts to curb the trading along illegal routes and explore new products and markets to increase export volumes. The trading includes both exports and imports so it needs to work hard to increase the exports and balance the trading by importing the supportive materials for increasing the exports.
General Mya Tun Oo continued that the relevant departments and private organizations should be encouraged to meet the estimated trading volume for the 2024-2025 Financial Year per the policies of the country.
Council Vice-Chairman Deputy Prime Minister Union Minister for Planning and Finance U Win Shein and Council Secretary Union Minister for Commerce U Tun Ohn reported on the implementation of the National Export Strategy (2020-2025) and completed work plans.
The attendees coordinated the discussion, and the General concluded the meeting.
