The Tatmadaw Hospital Ship Thanlwin, accompanied by mobile specialist medical teams comprising consultants, doctors, and nurses, has been providing healthcare services to residents along the Taninthayi coastal region, as well as to communities near Cocokyun Township in Yangon Region and Hainggyikyun in Ayeyawady Region.

Yesterday morning, the hospital ship arrived at Hainggyikyun in Ngaputaw Township, Ayeyawady Region, where it was warmly welcomed by Tatmadaw members from the local battalion, department officials, town elders, teachers, and students.

Yesterday, the mobile medical team set up a temporary base at the Tatmadaw hospital at Hainggyikyun to provide healthcare services to 613 residents from the town and nearby villages. The treatments included general medical consultations for 116 patients, surgical care for 52 patients, obstetric and gynaecological care for 34 patients, paediatric treatment for 22 children, orthopaedic care for 104 patients, ear, nose, and throat treatment for 32 patients, ophthalmology services for 210 patients, and dental care for 43 patients.

Moreover, nine patients underwent general surgery, 35 received eye surgery, 45 had X-ray examinations, 70 were tested using ultrasound, 71 underwent ECG heart screenings, and 105 had laboratory tests. Furthermore, arrangements were made for 35 patients requiring further treatment to be referred to nearby Tatmadaw hospitals.

In addition, specialists in surgery, paediatrics, and anaesthesiology from the Tatmadaw Hospital Ship Thanlwin successfully delivered a baby girl weighing six pounds and three ounces via caesarean section at 2.32 pm at the Tatmadaw hospital at Hainggyikyun. The mother, Daw Hnin Hnin Aye from Maungpa Village in Hainggyikyun, and her baby are both in good health. The newborn was presented with a monetary gift and other presents from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Navy), which were handed over by an official representative. This baby is the first to be delivered during the current mission and the 22nd baby successfully delivered aboard the Tatmadaw Hospital Ship Thanlwin in its operational record.

Officials from the local battalion visited the site to observe the medical activities and provided necessary coordination and support.
