Member of the State Administration Council, Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Transport and Communications General Mya Tun Oo, along with the Chief Minister of Ayeyawady Region, the Regional Minister for Transport and Communications, and other officials, inspected the construction of embankments, dredging works to prevent erosion and landslides in the villages, and flood protection works in Eaikpyat Village-tract on the banks of the Ayeyawady River in Hinthada Township, Ayeyawady Region, yesterday.
While inspecting the work on the Ayeyawady River by boat, the Union Minister and his team were briefed by officials from the Directorate of Water Resources and Improvement of River Systems on the work’s progress. The Deputy Prime Minister instructed that the work be completed on time, adhere to quality standards, and be carried out with proper attention to safety, as outlined in the work plan.
The General and his team then departed by speedboat to inspect the erosion and flood protection measures at Ohnkone Village on the banks of the Ayeyawady River in Letpadan Township, Bago Region, where officials from the Directorate of Water Resources and Improvement of River Systems presented potential measures. General Mya Tun Oo instructed them to carefully draft effective long-term plans (Master Plan) and implement them as soon as possible.
