ORGANIZERS said that the electric vehicles (EVs) fair held on 7-9 February at Myanmar Plaza, Yangon, attracts more customers by offering instalment payments.

At the event, Leapmotor Myanmar assembled EVs under a Semi-Knocked Down system as EV innovation introduced Leapmotor T03 EV that can be bought with a down payment of K17.8 million under a four-year instalment plan, partnering with A Bank.

“The fair also offers a special price of around K86 million for an EV worth K88.8 million. They will get a registration plate for Yangon. Other vehicles imported by foreign trade partners under the Completely Built Unit system have registration plates of regions and states other than Yangon. Those CBU EVs are K3 million higher than those SKD EVs,” said a representative fromLeapmotor Myanmar.

The automobile market is quite sluggish at present. Traders cut the price of brand-new cars by K20 million to 50 million.

EV import was allowed in 2022. More than 50 brands of EVs imported by about 80 companies are seen in the domestic market. Out of them, Toyota, BYD and MG brands are the most popular ones.
