Under Section 22 (a) of the Myanmar National Human Rights Commission Law, the Commission is dedicated to raising public awareness about human rights by disseminating information and public education. To implement the 2025 Framework for Action and the Annual Work Plan, to further enhance the understanding of human rights among the executive members of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar Interfaith Dialogue Organization (Nay Pyi Taw), and to support the organization’s goal of promoting cooperation and solidarity in public welfare efforts, a human rights awareness seminar was held as part of the Commission’s implementation of the 2025 at the Department of Traditional Medicine Hall, Botanical Park, Pyinmana-Taungnyo main road, Nay Pyi Taw Council Area from 2 pm to 5 pm yesterday. The event was attended by U Paw Lwin Sein, Chairman of the Myanmar National Human Rights Commission, along with fellow commissioners, officers, and staff; Chairman U Wunna of the Union of Myanmar Interfaith Dialogue Organization (Central), Chairman U Myo Aung of the Union of Myanmar Interfaith Dialogue Organization (Nay Pyi Taw), vice-chairpersons, executive members, and about 100 other guests.

During the opening ceremony, the Chairman of the Myanmar National Human Rights Commission delivered the keynote address. The Chairman of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar Interfaith Dialogue Organization (Nay Pyi Taw) then expressed gratitude for the talk. Director U Zaw Lwin Htoo subsequently presented the fundamental concepts of human rights, exploring their broad interpretations, characteristics, categories and shared insights into the history of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, particularly focusing on the right to freedom of religion as specified in the Declaration. Additionally, Deputy Director Daw Mi Mi Khaing discussed the establishment and activities of the Myanmar National Human Rights Commission. The session concluded with a Q&A and discussion period, wrapping up at 5 pm.
