HONOURING the 78th Anniversary of Union Day, the first MMC Book and Painting Fair was opened at Myawady Media Centre on Mogaung Road in Yankin Township of Yangon Region on Tuesday.

The ceremony was attended by the managing director of Myawady Media Centre, general managers, consultants, scholars from literary and fine arts arenas, and guests.

The fair was formally opened by officials.

A total of 15 literary and publishing houses sell fiction and non-fiction books together with more than 100 paintings by different artists.

The fair will last for three days from 11 to 13 February. Interested persons can visit it from 9 am to 5 pm daily.

Moreover, the fair arranges a special programme for a talk among writers, artists and audiences. In addition, the fair features a caricature programme for the creation of artistic works for readers and painting lovers.
