PDF terrorists committed an unprovoked attack on local farmers near Khuntowngyi Village in Shwebo Township, Sagaing Region, on the morning of 24 February. Armed with small weapons, terrorists fired at civilians engaged in agricultural work, injuring three women.

The victims – Ma Thanda Htwe (daughter of U Win Myint), Ma Than Than Soe (daughter of U Win Bo), and Daw Pa Pa Oo (daughter of U Sein Than) – were clearing grass in a field approximately 1,100 metres southeast of the village at around 9:40 am when the assailants, positioned about 200 metres away, opened fire unreasonably. The injured were immediately transported to Shwebo General Hospital for necessary medical treatment.

Such indiscriminate attacks by PDF terrorists have repeatedly resulted in civilian casualties. In response, security forces have intensified necessary security measures in the area and continue operations to ensure the safety of local communities.
