A total of 37,468 students sat for the 2025 matriculation examination at different exam centres in Yangon Region yesterday, the first day of the exam for the 2024-2025 academic year.

There are 91 exam centres for the 2025 matriculation exam in Yangon, and 39,263 students registered for the matriculation exam, and a total of 37,468 students – 16,776 male students and 20,692 female students — sat for the Myanmar subject yesterday.

“Relevant departmental officials and organizations under the supervision of the regional chief minister took necessary measures to ensure that students in the region could take the exam with peace of mind. We also arranged the exams at the hospitals’ exam centres.

The number of students who sit for the exam this year has doubled compared to the number of students last year. We thanked those involved in our efforts to make everything go well,” said the regional education officer.

The 2025 matriculation exam started with Myanmar subject on 17 March, while English subject will be on 18 March, Mathematics on 19 March, Chemistry and Geography on 20 March, Physics and History on 21 March and Biology and Economics on 22 March.
