Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn hosted a dinner yesterday at the Horizon Lakeview Resort in Nay Pyi Taw for the international experts in geopolitics and geoeconomics and observers who will participate in the “Forum on Myanmar Beyond 2025: Challenges and Opportunities in the Multipolar World”.

Also present at the dinner were Union Ministers U Ko Ko Hlaing and Dr Kan Zaw, Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman U Than Tun Oo, SAC Chairman’s Advisory Board members, Deputy Ministers U Ye Tint and Daw Nu Mra Zan, departmental officials, experts in geoeconomics and geopolitics from China, Russia, India, Japan, Thailand, Italy, and Nepal and other invitees.

Before the dinner event, the Union ministers cordially greeted the attendees. Then, the video clip “Golden Land Myanmar” was played.

Union Minister U Maung Maung Ohn made a speech, appreciating the arrival of international experts to the forum and added that the world is transitioning into a multipolar system. With this shift, how will various challenges and opportunities arise and how will the small nation be positioned in this multipolar world? And so, the experts are invited to join the discussion to find solutions to the questions. The attendees are the ones with proper experiences, and their opinions and discussions are also valuable to the country.

He appreciated the international experts, embassies, organizations and individuals for participating in the forum.

Professor Dr Zhang Weiwei from Chinese Fudan University and Indian Researcher Mr Sripathi Narayana from the Indian Council of World Affairs made a greeting speech, and Chairman of Myanmar Narrative Think Tank U Ko Ko remarked.

The Union ministers posed for documentary photos together with the attendees and had dinner together with them. During the dinner reception, the artistes from the Fine Arts Department of the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture entertained.

The Union minister presented cash prizes and flower bouquets to the artistes.

The international experts in geopolitics and geoeconomics and observers visited the Maravijaya Buddha Image and the Gem Museum on the same morning.
