THE artistes continued their entertainment for residents of Kyaukme and Hsipaw in Shan State (North) with the attendance of Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn, who is also Chairman of the Working Committee on Information and Development of a Resilient and Strong Social Community, yesterday.

The Union minister and party left Kyaukme yesterday morning, and they were welcomed by the locals and staff at the entrance to Hsipaw. They also had a documentary photo taken together with the artistes.

A meeting was then held at the Hsipaw Township Hall to discuss the Information and Development of a Resilient and Strong Social Community, and the video clip “Moving Forward to the Goal” was shown.

Speaking at the meeting, the Union minister appreciated the empathy, understanding, and mindfulness through thick and thin with locals of northern Shan State, and expressed delight at seeing that Hsipaw has now returned to normal conditions. He continued that a multiparty general election will be held in Hsipaw soon, and the voters need to carefully choose and cast their vote for those who are capable of working for the welfare of the region to ensure a better future for Hsipaw.

North-East Command Commander Brig-Gen Aye Min Oo clarified the complete control over the townships in the northern Shan State, urged the people to continue cooperating and expressed gratitude for entertainment programmes.

The Union minister presented Buddha images, 30 MRTV DTH receivers and accessories, and 20 MRTV DVB-T2 set-top boxes for Hsipaw Township to the Hsipaw Township Administrator.

The entertainment programme continued with performances by film stars and singers, and the locals participated in the event happily.

After the programme, the families of North-East Command and administrative officials of Kyaukme District and Hsipaw township awarded the artistes.

The Union minister and party went to Hsipaw Myoma Market and Kyaukme Myoma  Market and cordially greeted the buyers and sellers.

At noon, the Union minister and party visited the historic Pawkyo Mutthtaw pagoda in Bawkyo village of Hsipaw township, and donated cash.

In the evening, the artistes performed for Tatmadaw members, police, departmental staff and families at the City Hall of Kyaukme.

Before the concert, the Union minister made a greeting speech and donated Buddha images, 30 MRTV DTH receivers and accessories, and 20 MRTV DVB-T2 set-top boxes for Kyaukme station.

He also handed over the foodstuffs donated by the ministry for frontline Tatmadaw members.

The relevant officials then presented cash awards to the artistes who participated in the entertainment programmes in Kyaukme, Hsipaw and Naunghkio townships.

A total of 2,000 Tatmadaw members, police and families joined the event actively and happily.
