THE traditional Myanmar Thingyan Festival, celebrated nationwide with respect and joy, will be observed in 2026 following the same customs as in previous years. During the celebrations, entertainment programmes, including performances of Thingyan songs, will be presented by Union-level organizations, ministries, state and regional governments, and relevant departments.

At official events, such as the city mayor’s pavilions representing the government, and the parade floats in Nay Pyi Taw, performances of Thingyan songs will be broadcast to the public free of charge via radio and television.

Therefore, for public entertainment rather than commercial gain, we respectfully request that copyright holders grant permission for the free use of the songs performed and broadcast at these events.

The Ministry of Information extends its sincere gratitude to all copyright holders who kindly grant permission for such use.
