The opening ceremony of the Kason Banyan Water-Pouring Festival will take place at the Maha Bodhi banyan tree located at the southeast corner of the pagoda platform. It will be attended by Ovadacariya Sayadaws of the Shwedagon Pagoda Board of Trustees, members of the Board of Trustees, office staff, and Buddhist religious associations.

In addition, arrangements will be made for pilgrims to pour water in reverence at the Bodhi banyan trees situated at the four corners of the platform, with assistance provided by members of the Buddhist religious associations and staff, according to the Shwedagon Pagoda Board of Trustees.

“Well-wishers have arranged to serve pilgrims with charity foods on the occasion of the Maha Bodhi Banyan Water-Pouring Festival,” said U Bo Thin.
