THE Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement organized a coordination meeting yesterday to finalize a national-level standard operating procedure to reaccept, reintegrate and rehabilitate victims of trafficking.
The meeting at the Mingalar Thiri Hotel in Nay Pyi Taw was chaired by Deputy Minister U Soe Aung and emphasized requirements for coordination of relevant ministries and organizations in assisting trafficked persons.
The ministry has headed the works in reaccepting, reintegrating and rehabilitating victims of trafficking overseas since 1992.
The Deputy Minister added the standard operating procedures should follow existing laws and ministerial rules and procedures, as well as the 2019 Child Rights Law, with the participations of State/Region governments and international experts.
The IOM (Myanmar) is providing technical assistance for standard operating procedures.
