SELECTIONS for footballers for the MFF-MNL ‘Road to Japan’ tour will be held from 8 to 11 January on the artificial turf of the National Football Academy in Yangon, according to the Myanmar Football Federation.
A total of 75 footballers who have been preliminarily selected from MPT U-14 Football Tournament 2019 and MFF 100Plus Cup States and Regions U-14 (Boy’s) Football Tournament will be grouped into five teams – Teams A, B, C, D and E. Twenty-five players will be selected from among them.
The selected players will be sent to Japan on a football tour.
The MPT U-14 Football Tournament 2019 was jointly organized by the MFF, MNL, and MPT, in cooperation with the Basic Education Department.
The MFF 100Plus Cup States and Regions U-14 (Boy’s) Football Tournament was jointly organized by the MFF and 100Plus.
A press conference ahead of the player selections for the Japan tour was held yesterday at the Thuwunna Stadium in Yangon, and it was attended by the preliminarily selected 75 players and team managers.
At the press meet, MNL CEO U Soe Moe Kyaw and officials responsible for selecting players and those who will usher the Japan tour explained matters related to the tour.
The tour will include joint training programs, friendly matches, and watching J-League matches. The media have been invited to cover the player selections. The selections will take place during two time slots every day — 7:30 am to 9 am and 3:30 pm to 4.30 p.m.
