AMID high agricultural input costs, the Myanmar Rice Federation imported 177,000 tonnes of urea fertilizers and distributed 115,000 tonnes of urea fertilizers at fairer prices than the prices that are sold in the market.

The Federation distributes K86,000 per bag in the Yangon region, from K87,800 to K89,400 in other regions and states depending on transport charges.

The price per bag is K10,000 cheaper than the market value because the price is from K92,000 to K95,000 per bag in the fertilizer market. Currently, fertilizers needed for the winter and spring crops have been imported, and plans will be made to provide them for agricultural activities on time and to support sunflower farmers in October and November.
