WHILE accompanying the high-level delegation led by SAC Chairman Prime Minister Sen­ior General Min Aung Hlaing to the Russian Federation, Union Minister U Khin Maung Yi of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conserva­tion, along with Director-Gen­eral U Htay Aung of the Forest Department, attended the 2nd International Tiger Conserva­tion Forum held on the FEFU Campus in Vladivostok of the Russian Federation yesterday.

The Deputy Prime Minis­ter of the Russian Federation launched the second Inter­national Tiger Conservation Forum and officials from 14 countries took part in the event. Four Union Ministers signed on postage stamps to mark the ceremony and viewed the dis­played booths.

President Vladimir Putin of the Russian Federation de­livered the opening remark at the preliminary forum.

In his discussion, the Un­ion minister underscored the condition of tiger conservation in Myanmar, the expansion of conservation areas including the habitat of tigers, the record­ed numbers of tiger population in Myanmar in 2021-2022, the spending of funds on the habi­tat restoration programme for wildlife animals, the 2020-2025 plan for the conservation of ti­ger population in Myanmar, co­operation with local and foreign organizations, expected results from the undertakings in line with the global tiger recovery programme and future plans.

Minister of Natural Re­sources and Environment of the Russian Federation Mr Al­exander Kozlov gave conclud­ing remarks and the forum ended in the evening.
