THE Myanmar high-level delegation led by Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing went to Irkutsk via the railway station of Ulan-Ude on the morning of 10 September by special train.
On arrival at Ulan-Ude railway station in Ulan-Ude city which is important along Trans-Siberian and Trans-Mongolian railways, the Senior General and party were welcomed by General Director Mr Sergey Stolyarov of RZD International Railways under RZD “Russian Railways and conducted round the railway station.
He explained prospects for cooperate in manufacturing technologies, driving technology and rail transport services in electric-powered locomotives, diesel locomotives, natural gas powered locomotives and carriages of RZD Russian Railways Company, and railways conditions in Russia and construction of railways in European countries. The Senior General asked about technological cooperation in rail transportation and other measures.
The Senior General replied to queries raised by media from Republic of Buryatia on his visit to Republic of Buryatia, recommendations, attitude on the path of cooperation between the Russian Federation and Myanmar and others.
The Senior General and party proceeded to Irkutsk by special train from Ulan-Ude and viewed interior decoration of the train and formation of rooms, development of the railways technology, rural development, scenic beauties along the beach of Baikal which is the largest freshwater lake and others along the route.
RZD Russian Railways Company is a State-owned company opens its head office in the Red Gates Square of Moscow. It was established in September 2003, managing rail transport services. Moreover, it is a Joint-Stock company comprised with factories related to the rail transport.
At Passazhirskiy railway station in Irkutsk, the Senior General and party were welcomed by Head of Government of Irkutsk State Mr Igor Ivanovich Kobzev and officials.
The Senior General held a talk with Head of Government of Irkutsk State Mr Igor Ivanovich Kobzev at the office of Irkutsk State.
At the meeting, the Senior General was accompanied by Union level officials, senior military officers, Myanmar Ambassador to Russian U Lwin Oo and Myanmar Military Attaché (Army, Navy and Air) Brig-Gen Moe Kyaw. The Head of Government of the Irkutsk State was also accompanied by regional head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Ms Kurbatova Lyudmila Anatolyevna, officials of state government and businesspersons.
At the talks, they exchanged views on Myanmar’s situation as the strategic partnership country of Russian Federation, the hub situation of Irkutsk state in the Russian Federation, settlement of many heavy industries of the Russian Federation in Irkutsk state and operation of more than 18,000 businesses with investments, good prospects for successfully operating strategically economic investment and cooperation between both sides, promotion of cooperation in health, tourism and youth relations, prospect of cooperation and investment in all sectors as Myanmar is endowed with underground and aboveground resources and natural beauties which can successfully operate agriculture, livestock and tourism industries, and exchange of knowledge between ministries, hospitals and medical universities in the health sector.
The Senior General and the head of government of Irkutsk state exchanged gifts and posed for documentary photos together with delegations.
At the Memorial Eternal Flame near the office of the government of Irkutsk State, the Senior General and party laid a wreath paying tributes to the fallen soldiers of the Soviet Union who sacrificed life for the State in the Second World War.
In the evening, the head of government of Irkutsk State hosted a dinner to the Senior General and party.
Before the dinner, the Senior General and the Head of Government of Irkutsk State purposed toasts. They cordially talked about the 85th establishment of Irkutsk State which falls on 10 September, and holding the commemorative ceremonies on a grand scale in the state, firm results from the discussions on his arrival of the Senior General in Irkutsk State, and wish of the Head of State of Myanmar for ensuring the physical and mental well-beings over local people of Irkutsk State and all the people of the Russian Federation. And then, they had dinner together.
During the dinner, an artiste troupe performed traditional songs and dances and the Senior General presented cash award to them.
After the dinner, the Senior General and party and the Head of Government of Irkutsk State enjoyed the fireworks launched for commemorating the 85th establishment of the state together with the people, and presented gifts to the Head of Government of the state and expressed his wishes for them.
