MYANMAR’S COVID-19 positive cases rose to 618,898 after 234 new cases were reported on 18 September 2022 according to the Ministry of Health. Among these confirmed cases, 595,385 have been discharged from hospitals. Death toll reaches at 19,446 with two death. COVID-19 vaccine is being injected to those of priority groups in regions and states for prevention and control of the disease. Up to 17-9-2022, a total of 30,489,734 people above 18 and a total of 6,549,730 people under 18 have been vaccinated.
Preliminary analysis of COVID-19 vaccination of positive patients and deaths
ACCORDING to the analysis of the COVID-19 vaccination rate of positive patients between 28-1-2022 and 7-9-2022, 80 per cent of patients have not been vaccinated at all while 15.9 per cent are inoculated one time, four per cent have been fully administered with vaccines and 0.1 per cent received booster shots.
According to the analysis of the COVID-19 vaccination rate of deaths between 28-1-2022 and 7-9-2022, 84.1 per cent have not been vaccinated at all and have not been fully vaccinated, 14.4 per cent have been fully inoculated and 1.5 per cent received booster shots.
Therefore, according to the analysis of the COVID-19 vaccination and COVID-19 cases/deaths in Myanmar, it causes less severe illness and fewer deaths among those who are fully vaccinated and those who receive booster shots. The people should follow COVID-19 health rules, wear face masks and contact the nearest health departments, and village/ward administration offices to receive vaccines and booster shots.
