THE Nay Pyi Taw Technologi­cal University will conduct the master’s courses and doctor­al courses year after year to turn out the highly qualified human resources for the na­tion, said Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing at the opening ceremony of the Nay Pyi Taw Technological University un­der the Ministry of Science and Technology yesterday morning.

SAC member Admiral Tin Aung San, Union Minister for Science and Technology Dr Myo Thein Kyaw and Chair­man of Nay Pyi Taw Council U Tin Oo Lwin formally opened the Nay Pyi Taw Technological University.

Speaking on the occasion, the Senior General said the Government Technological College (Nay Pyi Taw) was upgraded to the Nay Pyi Taw Technological University to keep abreast of advanced uni­versities like Yangon Techno­logical University and Manda­lay Technological University.

The university will conduct six subjects namely four engi­neering subjects for turning out young engineers in addi­tion to information technology subject and architecture sub­ject. Experienced faculty mem­bers and experts will teach stu­dents the use of information and communication technol­ogy. In the coming years, the university will open an agri­cultural engineering course.

The university will open the first-year courses for those who passed the matriculation examination in 2022 in the 2022- 23 academic year. The Nay Pyi Taw Technological University will conduct master’s cours­es and doctoral courses year after year to turn out highly qualified human resources for the nation.

The Nay Pyi Taw Techno­logical University will be fa­cilitated with Information and Communication Technology and a learning managementsystem-LMS for academic measures, examination and training sectors. Students will be trained to have high skills and techniques.

The establishment of a technological university in Nay Pyi Taw Council Area will help the capital of the State to have city characteristics and to produce qualified engineers so as to benefit regional devel­opment and the socioeconomic development of the people.

The Senior General urged officials and faculty members to serve their duties for the development of the university and students to learn higher education for serving self-in­terest and regional and nation­al interests.

The Senior General and party viewed the practical rooms, lecture rooms, library, language lab, computer pools, and civil engineering and me­chanical engineering work­shops.

The Nay Pyi Taw Techno­logical University is located in Dana Theikdi Ward of Zabuth­iri Township in Nay Pyi Taw Council Area, and it was up­graded from the Government Technological College (Nay Pyi Taw). Aimed at turning out technologically skilful youths for nation-building tasks, in accord with the guidance of Chairman of the State Admin­istration Council Prime Minis­ter Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, the college was up­graded to the university level. It was facilitated with lecture buildings, an assembly hall, academic and management of­fices, lecture halls, practical rooms, computer pools, a li­brary and an e-library.
